Early Life and Career

Katharina Nehammer was born on August 29, 1988, in Vienna, Austria. She holds a master's degree in political communications from the University of Vienna and began her political career in 2012 as a member of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP).

Nehammer quickly rose through the ranks of the ÖVP, serving as a member of the Vienna City Parliament and as a Member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, she was appointed Federal Minister for Women, Families, and Youth.

In 2019, Nehammer became Secretary General of the ÖVP, making her the first woman to hold this position. She played a key role in the party's victory in the 2019 Austrian legislative election.
