An Interview With The Actor Who Plays Celebrimbor

Rings of Power's Charles Edwards Is Relishing His Doomed Character

An Interview with the Actor Who Plays Celebrimbor

In The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Charles Edwards plays Celebrimbor, a skilled Elven craftsman who is destined to play a pivotal role in the creation of the Dark Lord Sauron's titular Rings of Power.

Edwards recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his character, the show's production, and his thoughts on the legacy of J.R.R. Tolkien's work.

Edwards on Celebrimbor's Tragic Fate

Celebrimbor is a complex and tragic character. He is a gifted artist who is driven by a desire to create something beautiful and lasting. However, his work will ultimately be used for evil.

Edwards says he was drawn to the role because of Celebrimbor's inner conflict. "He's a character who is trying to do the right thing, but he's also flawed," Edwards says. "He's ambitious and he's proud, and those flaws ultimately lead to his downfall."

The Rings of Power's Production

Edwards was impressed by the scale and ambition of The Rings of Power. "It's the biggest TV show ever made," he says. "The sets are incredible, the costumes are beautiful, and the cast is amazing."

Edwards also praised the show's writers and directors for their faithfulness to Tolkien's work.

“They've really captured the spirit of the books,” Edwards says. "They've created a show that's both exciting and moving.”

Tolkien's Legacy

Edwards believes that Tolkien's work has had a profound impact on our culture.

"His books have inspired generations of readers," Edwards says. "They've taught us about the importance of courage, friendship, and hope."

Edwards is proud to be a part of the team that is bringing Tolkien's world to life on screen. "It's a privilege to be a part of this show," he says. "I hope that it will introduce Tolkien's work to a new generation of fans."
