In a major acquisition, Universal Pictures has secured the rights to adapt Britney Spears' bestselling memoir, "The Woman in Me," into a feature film. According to insiders, the studio prevailed in a highly competitive bidding war for the rights to the pop icon's life story.

The film, which is still in its early development stages, will chronicle Spears' journey from her humble beginnings to her rise to global stardom, her personal struggles, and her eventual triumph over adversity.
