US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania visit the Taj Mahal
US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have visited the Taj Mahal on the first day of their two-day state visit to India.
The Trumps arrived in India on Monday and were greeted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The couple visited the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on Tuesday morning. They were given a private tour of the monument and spent about an hour there.
The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.
The Trumps' visit to the Taj Mahal is a symbolic gesture of friendship between the United States and India. It is also a sign of the growing economic ties between the two countries.
